For the month of July we are proud to feature Su-Ann Badenhorst as our Woman of Strength & Honour. Su-Ann shines her light brightly as she navigates the demands and complexities of the corporate environment, while serving her community through the Untamed Love initiative.
During my journey I have learnt that “strength and honour” doesn’t come from the one who speaks the loudest, it can come from a whisper.
“Making a difference has been the core of who I am for as long as I can remember. Whilst studying I went on outreaches in our African neighbouring countries and came to a point where I realised that we don’t need to travel for days to get to a community that needs empowering, uplifting and encouraging, Africa is on our doorstep… That’s when my husband, I and a few friends started Untamed Love, a platform where different people can come together to make a difference built through relationship. After studying I joined the corporate world, initially not 100% sure why I chose the route but after a while realising the big impact that you can make when you are part of a global network of impact makers.
Being true to who you are and authentic in everything you do can help you focus on creating value, I find that focussing on your purpose and taking people with you on the journey makes it all the more worthwhile. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Embrace diversity, strength comes in all shapes and sizes, don’t be limited by the unknown as that is where you can grow most.
I believe that we were made to be challenged, to grow, to have grace and to constantly learn and do this with a fire in your heart.
For me purpose comes through developing people, striving for excellence and doing it with people to help make the world a better place. This doesn’t come without challenges, but no one ever changed the world by chilling in their comfort zone. It helps to surround yourself with friends, family and a community of people that believes in making the world a better place.
I believe that we were made to be challenged, to grow, to have grace and to constantly learn and do this with a fire in your heart. Don’t lose your fire because of people who want to dim your light.
Wear your lipstick and shine!”
Su-Ann, we would not have been able to say it any better!
Is there a woman who comes to mind when you think of a woman of strength and honour? Someone who displays this in their everyday life whether it be corporate, motherhood, school, or just even when they’re around friends or family. We’d love to feature them on our site and give them a free pencil skirt as a gift of encouragement to keep pursuing their mission.
Fill out the form here to tell us a little bit more about this woman and why you believe she should be our Strength & Honour Woman of the Month.
